It’s that easy! There are no employment contracts necessary. The Dish Pit Operator’s relationship to the employer is that of an independent contractor (1099).
When you’re ready to start Scheduling Dishwashers on Dish Shift, the job Scheduling process is pretty simple. First, you’ll need to Log Into Your Dish Shift Portal Account And Submit A Schedule Request For A Dishwasher, Then A Weekly Shift Package Would Be Created.
• Time Frames And Days Of The Week Requested Can Be Set On Repeat Or Adjusted At Anytime!
Dish Shifters Are only Assigned jobs they are available and qualified for. Once they Are Assigned the job, you can expect to see them on site for the specified shift. After you have found specific Dish Shifter you like working with, you can Put Them On REPEAT For Weekly Assignments Or add them to your Preferred Dish Shifters list and invite them to more jobs in the future. If you find some Dish Shifters that are not a good fit, you can also Discharge And block them in the Client Portal.
Once the Client has approved the Dish Shifter’s Shift Package Hours For The Previous Week, Dish Shift will pay the worker directly at The Hourly Wage Set By The Client.
Dish Shift Bills Clients One Hourly Fee, Which Includes The Dishwashers Set Pay Rate & Dish Shifts Service Fee Of $1.75 Per Hour, Which Is Debited After The Client Has Approved The Completed Weekly Shift Package Hours And Have Rated The Dish Shifter’s Performance.
Dish Shift will send an invoice & Direct Debit Timesheet Receipt Every Monday To All Clients Who Received Dishwashing Service Hours The Previous Week.

• Most of our clients are restaurant, Hotels and Senior Living Facilities, but we also service Universities, Events and Caterers. Most of our partners are mid-to-high range Kitchen establishments.

• To Retain Quality Dishwashers, Dish Shift Operates Billing By Standard Pre Authorized Debit/Credit Card Processing, But ACH Bank To Bank Transfers Are Available Upon Request.
During The Onboarding Process, Included In The Master Service Agreement, Clients Will Upload A Pre Authorized Debit/Credit Card Information Form, For Future Invoices And Billing Purposes.

• With Automated Debit/Credit Card Billing, you should expect to be charged Every Monday for any outstanding balance from Weekly Hours you’ve recently approved. Dish Shift handles payments to Dish Pit Operators for jobs done through our platform. One of the ways Dish Shift draws quality workers, is efficient payment Of Accepted "Shift Packages", but Dish Pit Operators are only paid when Weekly "Shift Package" Hours Have Been approved.

• What can I do if a Dish Pit Operator wasn’t a fit for my job?
Dish Shift's platform is designed to enable Kitchens access to the best Dish Pit Operators for the job. If a Dish Pit Operator cannot perform the tasks required to successfully complete your Task, We Will Have That Dish Pit Operator Removed From Our Dish Shift Platform.
• Are Dish Pit Operators employees?
Dish Pit Operators Are 1099 Gig Workers, Independent Contractors That's Been Trained & Insured To Handle Any Level of Dishwashing Duties. The relationship between Dish Shift and Dish Pit Operators is that of independent contracting parties. No employment contract of any kind – direct, implied or otherwise – exists between Dish Shift and the Dish Pit Operators, as well as between Clients and the Dish Pit Operators.
▪︎What do I do if a Dish Pit Operator damages my business' property?
As a Client, your ability to continue business operations is important to Dish Shift. If a Dish Shifter damages your business’ property, please contact us as soon as possible with the following information:
•Date and time of incident
•Location of incident
•Clear photos of the damage
•Brief description of how the incident occurred
•Number of people injured (if applicable)
•Estimated cost for repair (if applicable)
We will assess the damage after you've provided the requested details and will make the best effort to address any incidents as promptly as possible, following our Customer Agreement or other applicable agreements.
• How does Dish Shift's Occupational Accident Insurance policy benefit businesses?
All jobs conducted through Dish Shift by an independent contractor (Dish Shifter) require that the Dish Shifter is covered by Occupational Accident Insurance (OAI). This insurance covers medical expenses, lost compensation, and benefits related to accidental injuries that occur during the course of an accepted job through Dish Shift.
OAI is industry-standard insurance used by contractors across the United States. OAI provides occupational accident benefits for independent contractors. The key difference is that Worker’s Compensation can only be attached to an employer, while OAI can be purchased by and attached to an independent contractor.
Dish Shifters Are Responsible For Reporting Any Incidents And Submitting Claims. Dish Shift Ask that Clients also submit any incidents within 24 Hours of the job completion date.

Mandatory: In the event that your company does hire a Dish Pit Operator as an employee, you’ll need to notify Dish Shift and will be billed a Hiring Fee.

▪︎ Number of Hours Worked: >200 - <520; Hiring Fee: $2,000
▪︎ Number of Hours Worked: >520; Hiring Fee: $1,500

Applicants interview with members of the Dish Shift team, and are asked questions around their stated experiences. We also utilize skill-based questions to test knowledge for each position.
We want to make sure that we are bringing on Dish Shifters who have an unwavering positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a passion for service.
3. Skill Tagging
Based on experience and responses during the interview, the Dishwasher is graded out using our 20 skill and personality tags.
We believe that staffing is more nuanced than 1-5 stats, and these tags help us make sure we get you the right Dishwasher for the job.
Dishwashers are given ample guidance on their attire throughout onboarding and when applying to shifts, including photo references and suggestions on appropriate clothing.
